SCOUT WEEKEND 2008

Girl Scouts Day  will be held on Saturday, October 18 from noon until 5:00pm.  Girls will be able to participate in several stations located throughout T&D's and work toward specific badges.  Pre registration is required.  Please call and include your name, troop number, arrival time and number of scouts in group.  Admission is $4.00 per scout.  Plan for a 2 hour adventure.  Last scheduled group at 3:00.  Most of the events planned are for Junior Girl Scouts, however, there are activities specifically for Brownies and Daisies. 
In addition to our knowledgeable volunteers, we are very excited to have the following professionals helping with this event; Environmental Protection, DCNR and a dog handler.

This event is rain or shine.

Junior Girl Scouts will be able to work towards the following badges:

    1. Pet Care
    2. Wildlife
    3. Your Outdoor Surroundings
    4. Plants and Animals
    5. Earth Connections
    6. Doing/Making Hobbies

Girls should bring along a pencil, paper, Girl Scout Badge book, and 2 or 3 photos of their favorite pet, animal, activity, or family member.

Brownies Girl Scouts will be able to work towards the following badges:

    1.  Animals
    2. Earth and Sky
    3. Eco-Explorer
    4. Science in Action
    5. Plants

Girls should bring along a pencil and paper.

Daisy Girl Scouts will be able to work towards the following badges:

    1. Sound Sense
    2. Nature in Action

BOY SCOUT DAY HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO THE LACK OF INTEREST.

Boy Scout Day will be held on Sunday, October 19 from noon until 5:00pm.  Boys will be able to participate in several stations located throughout T&D's and work toward specific badges.  Pre registration is required.  Please call and include your name, troop number, arrival time and number scouts in group.  Admission is $4.00 per scout.  Plan for a 2 hour adventure.  Last scheduled group at 3:00.  Most of the events planned are for Boy Scouts (ages 10-18), however, there are activities specifically for Webelos, too. 
In addition to our knowledgeable volunteers, we are very excited to have the following professionals helping with this event; Environmental Protection, DCNR, a certified dog trainer, a veterinarian technician and Seven Mountains Audubon president.

This event is rain or shine.

Webelos will be able to work towards the following badges:
    1. Forester
    2. Geologist
    3. Naturalist
Boys should bring along a pencil and paper.  One badge book per group would be helpful.

Boy Scouts will be able to work towards the following badges:
    1. Bird Study
    2. Dog Care
    3. Environmental Science
    4. Fish & Wildlife Management
    5. Forestry
    6. Geology
    7. Pets
    8. Nature
    9. Mammal Study
   10. Veterinarian Medicine
Boys should bring along a pencil and paper.  Your badge book may be helpful.
