Monday through Thursday T&D’s Cats of the World is excited to present our fourth year for Animal Encounters Camps! Daily activities revolve around the
responsibilities of what it is like to take care of wild animals! Games,
crafts, learning and a little work makes this camp a lot of fun!
WANTED:
BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 10 to 15 WHO LIKE ANIMALS
WHEN:
BEGINNER CAMP (at least 10 years old) JUNE 14 -17 or June 28 - July 01 Intermediate Camp (Completion of Beginner Camp required), you may be touring the facility, making a toy for the wolves, coyotes and fox, learning about and watching the servals or bobcats eat, making a craft for yourself, learning how to “train” the wolves, helping with animal chores, and, of course, saying “Hi” to Wilson, the camel. Advanced Camp (Completion of both Beginner Camp & Intermediate Camp required)you may be touring the facility, making a toy for the monkeys or a craft for yourself, learning how we keep the animals medically healthy (specifically the lions and tigers), helping with animal chores, and, of course, saying “Hi” to Wilson, the camel. Camp is limited to 10 keepers each week. Registration required. If you are ready to be a “Keeper for a Week”, fill out the registration form and mail it to us today.
Above photos are a few examples of what "keepers" from our first camp in 2007. Through relay races (first row of photos), keepers were able to learn some of the skills needed as an animal keeper. Finally a keeper spending quality time with Wilson, the camel. Most of the "keepers" came back in 2008 for the Intermediate Camp. Photos below are from the 2008 Intermediate Camp. Animal enrichment is a daily activity when you are a keeper. First row, first and second photos below: These "keepers" are making paper mache toys for the canids (wolves, fox, and coyotes).
